New Movies That You Can Stream at Home

Even though lockdowns may mean visiting the movie theater won't be possible for a while, the good news is that a lot of movies that were set to be released in theaters have skipped the middleman and are now available to stream from the comfort of your home.

We've rounded up the movies we're most excited about streaming right now below.

Mulan

Kids (and their parents who remember the 1998 original) will enjoy this live action remake of the classic Disney film, which went straight to streaming after its March release date got delayed.

Available to stream on: Disney+ starting September 4

Just Mercy

This legal drama tells the true story of Bryan Stevenson, who went on to become a prominent rights lawyer, and his first ever case representing a man on death row.

Available to Stream on: Amazon

The King of Staten Island

For anyone looking to laugh (and maybe cry just a bit), this movie starring Pete Davidson and directed by Judd Apatow about an overgrown lost twenty-something seems like a pretty good candidate. Marisa Tomei and Bill Burr also star as Davidson's mother and her new boyfriend.

Available to stream on: Amazon

Artemis Fowl

Another one for the kiddos, this action-fantasy movie is based on the bestselling novel by Eoin Colfer about a young prodigy on the hunt for his father who has been kidnapped.

Available to stream on: Disney+

Capone

"Sopranos" fans may enjoy this take about another tortured mobster;  Tom Hardy stars as the notorious gangster in the last years of his life when he was suffering from dementia.

Available to stream on: Amazon

How to Build a Girl

Fans of 2019's "Booksmart" will delight in seeing Beanie Feldstein once again play a high school student on a mission to prove something to the world (and to herself). Here, she plays the lead in Caitlin Moran's novel about a teenage music critic.

Available to stream on: Amazon

Onward

If the kids need more entertainment (and of course they do), check out Pixar's latest about two teenager brothers (voiced by Chris Pratt and Tom Holland) who go on one last adventure with their late father. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer also star.

Available to stream on: Disney+

The Lovebirds

Charmers Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani star in this Bonnie & Clyde-like comedy about a couple who's on the run after being falsely accused of a crime they didn't commit.

Available to stream on: Netflix
