Six Summery Ways to Celebrate National Rosé Day

This year marks the 10th anniversary of celebrating National Rosé Day. Although the celebrations are fairly new, rosé itself has been around for centuries. According to the International Wine Association, pink wine was first sipped when the Phocaeans brought grapevines to Marseille during the Middle Ages. On June 8th, we’ll give a nod to our rosé ancestors with these fun celebrations around the U.S.

Los Angeles

Dress in your best summer chic attire and head to the LA enclave of Calabasas at the King Gillette Ranch for a full day of sipping rosé wines, champagne, spirits, specialty cocktails and mocktails with Rosé Day Los Angeles. Live DJ performances will set the vibe while gourmet food pairings curated by Iron Chef Marc Forgione will be on offer. Spend the day simply sipping or take part in fun leisure games and activities and check out the art and luxury brand activities. When it gets hot, head to the Frozé Zone for frozen pink treats. New York

A quick jaunt from NYC on the North Fork of Long Island is Croteaux Vineyards, the only vineyard in the U.S. exclusively dedicated to growing vinifera grapes for making rosé. The gorgeous vineyard gives off southern France vibes (which is considered home to the best rosé wines in the world) combined with the seaside style of rustic Long Island. The summer wine garden is now open, perfect for a day of sampling all the best rosé wines Croteaux has to offer.

Boston

If you can’t get enough of Rosé Day, keep the celebration going with Rosé on the Water, presented by 90+ Cellars on June 22. Get out on the Boston Harbor for a 2+ hour cruise celebrating the summery wine. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite pink outfit for the cruise to match the 90+ Cellars wines. Guests will also be treated to a buffet-style lunch and the sights of Boston as they spend the day on the water. Ticket HERE.

Chicago and Miami

Who’s ready to try a Rosépolitan, Rosé Spritz or Rosé Sangria? At Hampton Social, with multiple locations including Chicago and Miami, the restaurant and bar is celebrating National Rosé Day all month long with specialty cocktails, as well as the launch of their very own private label H Rosé. Come in and sip and sample all month long. On June 8, all locations will celebrate National Rosé Day with a special Brunch of Rosé.

Washington, DC

At Whino in Arlington (just outside of the nation’s capital), the pop surrealist art gallery-slash-restaurant will celebrate National Rosé Day on Friday, June 28 with an international tasting event. Featuring wines selected by Whino’s team of all-female wine curators, guests will travel the world via tasting five rosé wines. June 28 also happens to be National Ceviche Day if you want to enjoy the perfect pairing. Buy tickets HERE.

At Home

And finally, if you could bottle up summer and drink it in your own backyard all season long, would you? It turns out you can. Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack, NY offers a “Summer in a Bottle” collection of rosé wine. Uncork it on June 8 and stock up for your own personal summer of rosé. Cheers!
