Tasting Irish Whiskey & French Chocolate at Our Inaugural Atlas Club Event

While we may not be able to gather in person these days, we know how important it is for people to (safely) connect with each other. That's why we were so excited to kick off the inaugural meeting of the Atlas Club, our new social club for residents that provides special opportunities to meet, mingle and explore. Through a series of monthly events, residents can learn a new skill from an expert, taste a dish from a world-renowned chef and more.

For our first event, we hosted a special whiskey and chocolate tasting perfect for the season of indulgence. Residents received a beautiful box curated by Chefanie, featuring a selection of whiskeys by Bushmills Irish Whiskey, chocolates from Maison du Chocolat and Li-Lac Chocolates, as well as a cheese board in a jar. Then, they joined a  Zoom call to hear from Jack Ferris, US Brand Ambassador for Bushmills, and Pierre-Antoine Bollet, Country Manager at Maison du Chocolat.

Residents tasted their way through a series of sweet Quito dark chocolate ganache; a Sylvia milk chocolate ganache with just a *hint* of dark chocolate flavor; and finally a Cristal praline, laced with almonds and hazelnuts. To complement the chocolate, residents tasted a Bushmills Black Bush, and 10-year-old and 16-year-old single malt whiskeys. During the event, we learned that whiskey originated in Ireland (despite what the Scotts might tell you); that whiskey will stay good for a long time, so long as you don't keep it in direct sunlight; that the secret to making delicious hot chocolate is to let it simmer for about an hour (and to use quality ingredients); and that there seem to be more dark chocolate lovers out there than milk chocolate lovers by a *tiny* margin.
